I am reading this book a second time because it is written with such great prose and imagination that I wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. It is a "cannot put it down" book with a great story and is so descriptive you feel like you are right there with the characters. I was not aware of the ravages of the Irish famine. I had heard of it but this book takes you right into it. Chalk another one up for the British oppressors. Makes you think how lucky we are. Can't wait for her next book.Product details

This books gives an excellent picture of how things were during the Irish famines and how hard life was on those who came across the Atlantic Ocean. Well written and gripping - can't wait for the sequel - nice to see an up and coming new writer........
This is an AWESOME read, I enjoyed it so much I bought 4 more to give friends as gifts. Elizabeth Tyrrell I can't wait for a sequel! Oh and by the way everyone I gave a book to loved it.
I hope the author publishes the sequel to this novel..It is well written with well researched knowledge during a trying time in the history of Ireland.
